Hi, I’m Pamela Leonard, INHC

With over 25 years of experience as a personal fitness trainer, bodywork specialist / licensed massage therapist and nutritional coach, I will motivate you: to move, guide you and encourage you to relax and nurture yourself, give you self-help techniques to relieve muscle aches and pains; clear all the clutter, whether physical or mental, out of your life, if it’s no longer serving you; as well as, address nutritional and weight loss goals.

My Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching programs are available for Individuals, Couples and Families. There are coaching programs to suite every need, from 1 Day VIP Intenvise Kitchen Essentals, to 6 month programs that take you from dispare to dazzeling.  How would you like to show up at your next class reunion looking better than the day you graduated? My Health Coach Training

I graduated from the Institute For Integrative Nutrition where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques and over 100  dietary theories; everything from Ayurveda, gluten-free, and Paleo, to raw, vegan, and macrobiotics, and everything in between.

My Story

Inflammation, pain and fatigue has nagged me since I was a little girl.  But it was ignored, undiagnosed until I was almost 50 years old!.  I was sick a lot a a child and was constantly on antibiotics.  I  grew up on the Standard American Diet, (SAD), And had a pretty sever head injury when I was 5 years old, that still plays a major role in my daily function.  I craved sugar and over indulged any time I could.  I  experienced tremendously itchy skin, that was worse at night, thus didn’t sleep well, and in the morning, was  moody, exhausted and experienced brain fog. 

In college, I was a competitive body builder.  I starved my brain of the essential healthy fats following  the low-fat, no fat diet craze in the 80’s and 90’s. Consuming empty carbs, gluten and sugar was acceptable on those diets, not realizing the detriment it made to my brain, joints and the cause of chronic inflammation.While getting ready for a competition, I herniated 2 lumbar discs which cause years and years of chronic pain and inflammation.  I used over the counter pain killers, ice packs and sleeping pills to cope, but at times, I needed a cane to walk. Although I strived to stay athletic, there were periods when I was very limited in the amount of activity I could tolerate, so, my weight was a constant struggle, and at one point I was over 200 pounds!

Because I was on so many antibiotics for the first 18 years of my life, followed by birth control pills and heavy use of advil, tylonol and alcohol,   I developed many symptoms that led to  a compromised immune system, inflamation, leaky gut and a long list of health issues that all came to a head in 2015

In 2014, feeling like I was 110 years old. Stiff, puffy, chronic headaches, pain, swollen, lacking sleep, eating constently, cravings for carbs, sugar and alchol, I noticed my already poor memory was getting worse and I mean really worse; to the point I was afraid I had dementia or early Alzheimer’s. I was having a really hard time reading. I would stare at a word, but not able to recognize or say it. Conveying a thought through speech was getting hard. I would have difficulties completing a sentence, because I couldn’t find the words or even know what the words were. I would stand there and point at ‘that thing’.  Indeed, it was very frustrating and scary. My kids at the time were 9 & 10, they thought it was funny, bless their hearts, but I didn’t think so. 

Although I considered myself ‘healthy’ at the time, I look back now and see how little by little I was being poisoned and deceived by marketing tactics and commercialism.  All of these symptoms and conditions multiplied and accumulated, and then,  I finally crashed. 

In July 2015, I collapsed in bed with the worse migraine I had ever had, extreme exhaustion, pain and brain fog.  I didn’t get out of bed for 3 weeks.  The diagnoses reviled,  I had a lot of health issues including : Adrenal burnout, auto immune disease (psoriasis), blood sugar issues, extremely low immunity, malnourished, leaky-gut, pathogens, candida, Epstein-Barr, gluten and sugar intolerance. I thought I was dying. Never did I think, or was aware that years of progressively poor nutrition habits and lifestyle choices, led to physical and mental disorders, including: mood swings, memory and cognitive impairments, insomnia, inflammation conditions, concentration problems, depression, headaches, migraines, chronic stress/fatigue and pain.

My body was shutting down.  My choices were to go on antibiotics, steroids and antidepressants.  I didn’t like that idea.  I’ve always believed that our body could heal itself it you give it the time and means to do it.  So I started searching.   I needed to find a way to detoxify my body and give it an opportunity to rest, reset, rejuvenate and recover.

I researched and followed holistic, nutritional, healing protocols.  Realizing food can be a source of nutriton and buildng up our bodies or tearing it down.  We have two choices with every single thing we put in our mouth, on our skin and ingest inour body.  We are made up of over 72 trillion cells, all that are alive and thrive on what we feed them. It is up to us to deicde whether we feed them so they can live, multiply and divide or mutate to disease.  No one wants to intentionally poison them self, but it can be really confusing out there with all the commercialism.  That is where I come in as your Personal Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I am happy to be here today to share with you what I have learned and  what I have lived.
